Privacy Policy

Backblur is built so that we never see your data. This policy explains what that means in practice, for both the Android app and this website. It applies to Backblur, published by Graf Technology, LLC.

The app

Backblur has no account system, no analytics, and no advertising. The app does not even request network permission, so it is technically incapable of sending your photos or edits anywhere. Photos you open, edits you make, and recent creations you keep are processed and stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.

Purchases are processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation that your Google account completed the one-time unlock, and nothing else; we never see your payment details. Google's handling of that transaction is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

If you use Android's backup features, your settings and unlock state may be included in your device backup, managed by Google under your Google account. Recent creations transfer only device-to-device, never to cloud backup.

This website

backblur.app uses a self-hosted instance of Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how the site is used. It runs on our own infrastructure, sets no cookies, collects no personal information, and does not track you across other sites. Aggregate usage data (pages viewed, referrers, browser type) and anonymized interaction recordings help us improve the site. This data is never sold or shared.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is typically nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you believe we hold information about you, or have any privacy question, contact us at support@graftechnology.com and we will respond promptly. Residents of the EU, UK, California, and other jurisdictions with privacy laws have the rights those laws provide; our answer to most requests is that no data exists.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Material changes to how the app handles data would also be noted in the app's update notes.
